 1209: Lecoultre Freres, c. 1860

Antique Music Box by Lecoultre Freres, c. 1860

A lovely quality small antique music box made the prestigious firm of Lecoultre Freres of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1860.

The movement plays a bright selection of 6 operatic airs including ‘Lucie de Lammermeer’ and ‘Il Trovatore’ (as shown in the video), as well as ‘La Traviata’ – all of which are detailed on the original tunesheet.

The comb bears the Lecoultre Freres stamp, and the movement is numbered on the bedplate.

The case is inlaid rosewood and a nice compact size, making this a perfect domestic-size music box.
