 1194: Bremond, c. 1875

Antique 9 Bell Music Box by Bremond, c. 1875

SOLD

An excellent sounding antique music box with 9 engraved bells made by BA Bremond of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1875.

The musical movement features 9 engraved bells struck by hammer strikers and plays a selection of 8 operatic tunes including Il Trovatore and La Traviata, as detailed on the original Bremond tunesheet.

The case is very nicely inlaid with a charming motif on the lid which features a frog sitting on a leaf on a pond with a dragonfly behind him.

The front of the case also features an attractive neo-gothic scrolling inlay around the lock which indicated the quality of the music box.
